Below are some aerial photographs of Dover kindly donated by James Rowson of
www.jameshovercraft.co.uk. They show the town from three different angles showing how it has developed in the River Dour valley and surrounding valleys
that join the main valley. The Dour's source is in Alkham Valley to the Northeast of town although the river does not flow
the entire length of the valley no more and sometimes reappears in times of flooding and increased rainfall.
