20th Dover District Football Festival
Dover Athletic Football Club, Dover District Council and Charlton Athletic FC are pleased to announce that the community football fun-day, Dover Football Festival, will take place on Sunday 20th May 2007. The event, which combines a massive youth 5-a-side competition with fun and exciting family events all day long, will be held at Dover Athletic Football Club's Crabble Stadium, in Dover. The event opens for registration at 9 am, with the football tournament kicking off at 10am. Family events on the day will include Live Music on the main stage, Bouncy Castles, a Climbing Wall, Table top football with prizes every hour, Music workshop, funfair rides, tattooing/hair braiding, Arts in Motion Bus, Football coaching lessons and loads more. Also present on the day, will be exhibitions from Kent Police, Kent Fire & Rescue Service, DDC Community Safety Unit, Motor Cross Challenge Project, Vista Leisure, Drug & Alcohol Services, YMCA, Dover Rugby Club and many more. The event is supported by Dover District Council, Dover Athletic Football Club, Charlton Athletic FC and District of Dover Crime reduction Partnership. Entry to the event is completely FREE. Food and drink (including alcohol) are available from the outlets within the event. Please note: Alcohol purchased outside of the event will be confiscated, due to licensing and safety Issues. We would ask that members of the public do not attempt to bring their own alcohol in to the venue to avoid embarrassment. Participants in the 5-a-side tournament will be provided with a free lunch bag sponsored by Gomez®. The lunch includes sandwiches and three pieces of fruit, plus a bottled drink provided by Charlton Athletic FC. The lunch has been designed to promote healthy eating.

Second weekend of a four weekend programme to give visitors the opportunity to learn everything there is to know about falconry from Roman times up through the ages. 10am-5pm. Week long series of events starting on Sat 21st with a Teddy Bears Picnic on Walmer Green 2pm - 5.30pm, then in the evening disco roadshow from 7pm - 9.30pm. Other events follow through the week, on Wednesday there is the Party on The Prom with parachute drop and large firework display by Deal Pier and on Thursday evening the Carnival Parade. Adults and children alike can make and decorate a jointed historical figure. Choose from a variety of historical figures including Roman, Saxon, Viking, Tudor and Victorian. The event will bring together 450 of the world’s best archers and will double up as the third and final leg of the European Grand Prix series.
